Howdy! I’m finally a little more free after settling what i have on hand! Now, it’s about time to settle the questionnaires! For some of you, i’ve replied you on the side already, and the rest of you TDMers, i’ll be picking three questions to reply;
Qn: I heard that this year’s AFF is really big and i even hear people talking about it in Paris is it really that popular?
Ans: Well, the Audi Fashion Festival is in its 5th year and with that, they have moved to a much bigger venue at the Marina Promenade with a new waterfront location against the backdrop of Singapore’s skyline & a bigger tent that targets to attract more than 20,000 visitors, up from 13,200 in 2012.
From the world’s most revered designers and international top models to red carpet fashion galas and glamorous after-parties with headlining international acts, the Audi Fashion Festival will be the biggest fashion event of the year, with the support of the Singapore Tourism Board. In previous years, AFF showcased collections from world-known brands such as Christian Lacroix, Vivienne Westwood, Zac Posen, Mugler with Nicola Formichetti, Roland Mouret, Gareth Pugh, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Missoni, Ungaro, Erdem, DSquared, Roberto Cavalli as well as local fashion heroes like Raoul and alldressedup. Themed “Crafting the Future”, this year’s festival spreads over 5 days of shows featuring a mix of emerging and established top-class names from the international world of fashion including Carolina Herrera, Hussein Chalayan, Peter Pilotto, Tsumori Chisato, Collette Dinnigan, RAOUL, Ashley Isham, Zardoze, Jun Okamoto and Ong Shunmugam.
So it’s definitely not surprising that it’s starting to gain reputation all over the World!
Qn: I know that some of the designers are involved in this AFF and i see one of them, my fellow Mongolian designer, Kudos!
Ans: Yes, The Audi Fashion Festival does not only support the big brands, but also, the aspiring new talents, one of which is Batmunkh Uugantuya, a Mongolian designer that takes her inspiration from her homeland. Also, revealing this year’s winner of the Audi Star Creation, they are; Roderic Wong, 28 (China), Ko Youngji, 33 (Korea) and Soravit Kaewkamon, 24 (Thailand). Congratulations! Qn: I heard that there are some stuff going on at the Audi Fashion Festival, tell me more!
Ans: Yes! There are quite a lot of things going on at this year’s AFF! There was the test drive of the Audi A3 that is launching in Singapore, the BLUEPRINT, also known as the Asia Fashion Exchange, a multi-faceted tradeshow for both regional and international brands in the region, BLUEPRINT enjoys substantial domestic and overseas buyer and media attendance annually. It aims to offer exciting sales and networking opportunities delivered with a uniquely personal touch.
The Wine Voyage, the team behind Singapore’s biggest outdoor wine fair, Singapore Wine Fiesta, has partnered with Audi Fashion Festival to bring a wine and culinary event, Wine Voyage, into the fashion world. Jointly organised by The Straits Wine Company and Mercury Marketing & Communications, Wine Voyage takes guests through a discovery of wine and gourmet food of the fashion capitals of the world – Berlin, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Sydney and Singapore.
Last but not least, not forgetting the Fashion Café – MU Parlour, The Boathouse and Spathe Public House offered an array of cakes, pastries and sandwiches with a local twist to be savoured with a glass of champagne, artisanal coffee and teas!
