EMOTIONS – Humanity

Image

These few months have been emotional.

For the past 3 months, i’ve been to Hospitals, Wakes and Funeral… I’ve seen tears flow like a river, cries that cuts deep into our hearts and emotions that i hope i’ll never ever see. It just occurred to me how fragile our lives are and how desperate one could be in times of need.

Yesterday, i was just at the Singapore General Hospital and the scary part to this was that i could literally remember where the cafeteria is, where the hospital blocks are and the whole layout of the location. That’s definitely not something too good to constantly remain so fresh in my memory.

Just 2 months ago, i spent almost every other week at the Hospital because my Granny had a bad fall. Last month, i was at the Funeral wake of my Great-Grandmother whom i’ve last visited at the hospital 2 weeks before she left us and yesterday, i was at the Hospital seeing my girlfriend’s aunt gasping for air with that already weak body of hers. All these triggered so much mixed emotions in me and it made me realise, over and over again, how fragile a human life is.

This post was not meant to gain “likes”, but to remind every single one of us how little we see our lives and whatever is happening around us. It is honestly sad to see that many of us, singles or married couples having to spend more then the time we spend at home, working for our daily basic expenses and trying hard to match inflation. This slowly became a lifestyle for Singaporeans, a lifestyle that i’m not even a bit proud of.

To a certain extend, this has been the root problem of divorce, quarrels and misunderstanding, even amongst the closest people to you, OUR FAMILY.

When was the last time you hangout with your friends?

When was the last time you saw your cousins?

When was the last time you saw your aunt or uncles?

When was even the last time you saw your parents and siblings?

I myself, i’m struggling with this, being in the Food & Beverage industry, i don’t see my parents or siblings by the time i’m awake, and by the time i’m home, they’ll be asleep. This constant need to strive for our careers and business have given us such little opportunity to spend time at home. The unfortunate part to this, It’s life in Singapore, or maybe even around the World.

Signing off for dinner with Family.

God Bless!
